xcode for Snowfall Leopard x.half-dozen.viii
How-do-you-do,
I don't have my new Mac all the same so am looking for xcode for snow leopard 10.6.8. I read that I desire xcode iv.2 but that simply appears for Lion. Do I actually want "Xcode three.2.v and iOS SDK 4.2" which is available and will that work with LiveCode? FYI - I have a paid dev account (I've read that xcode four.2 is non costless like all other versions).
Thanks for your help!

Re: xcode for Snowfall Leopard x.6.8
Thank you, but I still need to know which version will work on snowfall leopard OSX 10.6.8...
LiveCode set-up says:
When running on Snow Leopard, LiveCode uses the iOS five.0 SDK to produce device builds. This is available as function of Xcode iv.ii.
The 4.3 and 5.0 simulators are supported on Snow Leopard.
apple lists 4.i through 4.three.3 for Lion, and 3.x versions for snow leopard...
tnx

Re: xcode for Snow Leopard ten.6.viii
I discovered in an Apple Dev Forum that you take to be both a paid iOS dev and a paid OSX dev to run into the download link.
No, that is definitely not truthful. You *do* have to accept registered an Apple ID, and you do have to set up a link to a credit carte du jour account as part of the process, but it's non necessary for any money to modify hands. The XCode download is free from Apple, although you accept to do a *lot* of searching around the dev site to come with previous versions.
I'yard not at my Snow Leopard motorcar at the moment, simply subsequently I can check which version of XCode is running on it.

While an estimated xix% of Mac users are all the same using Snow Leopard, it may exist worth noting that Apple appears to have stopped providing security updates for information technology, suggesting the need to move forrard to after versions:
Snow Leopard updates are probably done—hither are your OS X upgrade options

Re: xcode for Snowfall Leopard 10.half dozen.8
I'm not sure that'southward entirely relevant: my old mac mini (the ane that'due south running Snow Leopard) has a 32-chip Intel processor and so its upgrade path is quite limited. Our mac air and macbook pro are upgraded to 10.nine, but the mini will never get there. And then I have different versions of Xcode on the different macs.

That seems to be a key reason then many notwithstanding employ SL, which is why then many news sites have been far more than, shall we say, "expressive" than Ars about the seeming abandonment of such a large portion of the Mac user base of operations.
I simply mention it for those who keep their older Macs connected to the Cyberspace. Like XP soon, it may be safer to move such machines to LAN-just for testing.

From what I've read on various forums, I understand that 4.2 was the version where Apple tree decided to starting time charging for Xcode but so quickly reversed their decision. So versions prior to and afterwards 4.2 are gratuitous. There are many posts by people not being able to see this version until they have a paid Dev account. Try logging in to the dev centre with an Apple ID that does non have a paid account - I'll bet you a beer that the download is non available.

Endeavor logging in to the dev heart with an Apple tree ID that does non have a paid account - I'll bet y'all a beer that the download is non available.

Cool. Beer.
I missed the office where yous were looking for only Xcode iv.2. At any rate they're all available for download from developer.apple.com (yes, without a paid Apple dev business relationship, because I refuse to practice that), even 4.2, although iv.2 does say that information technology's for King of beasts. The most recent Xcode version that Apple specifically says is for Snow Leopard is 3.2.6. That's if you accept Apple'south discussion for it.
